The Ski Basics Team
We know that it is the people looking after you that truly make your holiday a special experience. The positive feedback we receive shows us that our staff are the key reason people return to Ski Basics year after year.
Our team to suit you
We are so fortunate and proud to have such a brilliant team; they are carefully selected, from huge numbers of applicants, for their warm nature, enthusiasm, maturity, experience and professionalism. They are completely committed to you. Our staff understand that your chalet is your own private domain and therefore will be as hands-on or discrete as you so desire.
Our team is also extremely passionate about skiing here in Meribel. They will be happy to give you insider info; from where to find the best powder to recommending the best quiet little cabins for lunch.
The staff are here for you; they are Your Team, working to make your holiday extra special and that every detail is taken care of both in the chalet and from behind the scenes as part of the Ski Basics experience.
Your team during your stay
On arrival, you will be greeted by your chalet host and resort manager, and throughout your stay they, and the drivers, will be there for your every need.
Below you can find out more about how each of them can assist you.
Chalet hosts
Our highly-trained, professional, friendly chalet hosts will warmly welcome you to your new mountain home. From helping with your luggage, showing you around, to making you a cup of tea and keeping your chalet bright and sparkling clean, you can rest assured knowing you won’t have to lift a finger for the week.
Our chalet hosts will provide you with delicious home-cooked meals, keep the wine flowing in the evenings and make you feel at home from day one. From special birthday parties, snowman building and sledging with the kids, and recommending the best live music in town, they’ll help with anything and everything they can. Our staff's attitude of "nothing is too much trouble" will ensure that everyone has a holiday to remember.
Resort drivers
Our team of trained, experienced drivers are here for you from the very start of your holiday. Whether it’s a lift to the ski hire shop to get you kitted out or an all important first day at ski school, they’ll have you covered.*
We know that even the shortest walk can be a struggle in ski boots (especially when you end up carrying the kids’ skis too!) so our team of happy, friendly drivers are available both mornings and evenings everyday of your holiday. After breakfast, your driver will be waiting at your chalet to collect you and help with all your skis, poles and boards. They’ll make sure you get to ski school on time and to also get those all-important first lifts.
At the end of a long day on the mountain our drivers will be waiting to collect you from 4pm to take you straight back to the chalet so you can rest those legs with a hot drink by the fire.
*Our driver service is available for those chalets that are not within 5 minutes walking distance of the slopes.Resort managers
Our team of experienced managers are on hand to make sure every guest staying with Ski Basics receives exceptional service. They will be in touch with you prior to your arrival to answer any questions and ensure everything is ready for you in the chalet for when you arrive. Our managers oversee all chalet operations and make sure everything runs perfectly. They will organise everything for you, from the purchase and delivery of your ski passes, hiring of ski equipment to organising massages, recommending instructors for private ski lessons and booking restaurants.
Our managers know our chalets inside out, and they will be there to welcome you from the moment you arrive. They are also available at any time to answer all of your questions on Meribel, Ski Basics, and everything in between to ensure that you will have a fantastic holiday with us.
"Another great week for our large group. 20 persons catered for in two chalets - Bouquetin and Brenettes. Yet again the whole team constructed by Ski Basics is a quality one from chalet team to drivers, managers, and admin. The result is a very attentive and supportive team to ensure a great week where our only concern was how good the snow was."
